UNDER THE WINGS

March 13, 2025. Big Bear Mountain in California. It was one of the biggest winter storms in history for that area, dropping 28 inches in a matter of hours. We even had friends who had gone up there for their anniversary and was essentially “ snowed in” ( sort of, kinda of! ) In the midst of this massive storm, was a couple named Jackie and Shadow. They are the infamous bald eagles who had precious cargo they were protecting…two babies to be exact. It was recorded that Jackie sat on the eggs for 62 hours during the blizzard while Shadow fought the winds to get food for her and then comforted her. Not once did she move. Her massive wings kept her babies safe, warm, protected from the harsh winds and snow. She was steadfast, determined, willing to endure the freezing snow in order to protect the ones she loved. Nothing would sway her from leaving the nest. She knew her purpose and was equipped to finish it. In Ps. 91:4 it says this; “ He will cover you with his feathers, He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection”. Like Jackie, our bald eagle mama, God has you. No matter what your storm is right now, whether it is small or massive, God is right there…never to leave or forsake you. He has the feathers to protect you, to bring you through it…according to His purposes for your life. Unlike Jackie, God knew this storm was coming in your life and He was ready for it. The only thing you need to do is stay under His wings and let Him do the hard work. It’s so tempting to want to get from under His wings and see what’s going on, and how you can fix it. But God knows this is one storm you can’t do without Him. Like the two babies who stayed under the wings of Jackie, they survived the storm and now are practicing flying with their wings to leave the nest and soar towards their own purpose. Rest in Him now. Let Him protect you and watch how He brings you through it all. How do you know He will? Because He loves you…really loves you. He gave up His ONLY Son to die for your sins so that, through His resurrection, you might be saved and have eternal life…an abundant life right now…someone who is willing to suffer the storms so that you will be brought through it all…soaring with JOY and confidence. Until the next storm, for we all know there will be a next storm, stay under the Kings wings where you are loved, protected and valued. Amen
