CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST
It was still hot, very hot, but to me it felt like Christmas. At 5:30 am Miley and I were at the park and so was the sign for the Women’s Bible Study. I sent a picture to Lisa Laizure ( our amazing teacher) to remind her what day it was! It had been as if everyone had gone into hibernation and was coming out to join together in celebration of a new year, filled with JOY and optimism. Their were new faces and those who we knew from times past. My friend Sandy had been battling bladder cancer and had just finished her treatments. My table with Sue, Alice, and Shelia, we’re back together again as we shared our adventures from our summer break. It marked the beginning of all things good….apple caramel bars, pumpkin maple cupcakes, pecan pie, and of course Christmas cookies…as a baker this is when the holiday baking begins!!! But, in reality, the real JOY was centered on one thing, on one person…Jesus. As we go through the book of John, it was a reminder, that as Christians, we have the most important gift to share…and that is the love ,salvation, and hope that can only come from Jesus. If you are a Christian, are YOU sharing this message? It’s easy to get caught up in our daily lives and forget what our real purpose is. If you are not a Christian, I would challenge you to ask the question, WHY? Ask God to show you real TRUTH and I promise you He will. May this holiday season begin with a reminder of our purpose to boldly share TRUTH and for others to accept TRUTH….Jesus. I’m SOOOO excited…how about you?
