DIGGING DEEPER

Yep it’s that time again..fall. Well, not officially, but as far as I’m concerned, September 1st is close enough. I pulled out the box of fall decor and began the transformation. The pumpkin lights, fall leaves, Indian corns, apple pumpkin candles, and the all inclusive fall wreath. Let’s not forget the scarecrows, mini hay bails, and the fall sign saying “welcome you all”. For Kev it’s all about FOOTBALL, more specifically, the Broncos. And for my fall baking…September is all about apples! Yes, fall is the changing of the blistering heat of summer to the cool nights of fall, where we can finally open our windows, and doze off to the gentle, cool, breezes of AZ. But this fall will add another transition. Our church, CCV, is starting up again with our home groups. Kev and I knew that we wanted to dig deeper into the Bible….to help people read the Bible for their daily time with God. Also, as AI continues to grow, it will be harder to discern what TRUTH is so we wanted to equip people with the tools and resources to find TRUTH. But, more importantly, to answer the WHY. Isn’t it enough to go to church and just do a short devotional page and a quick prayer before we start our day? Awhile back, I was in grad school, studying exercise physiology, and felt a calling on my life for ministry. I enrolled in seminary. My dad was furious. As an atheist, he was appalled that I would have gone through college at UCSB that he paid for, only to throw it all away for God. He finally asked “why?” My answer? With tears in my eyes, I told him God loves me, and I love God and I want to always have him in the center of my life. This book, “How to Read the Bible”, will help us find that love relationship that God so desperately wants to have with all of us. At 85 years old, my dad gave his life to Jesus. How about you? Are you ready to go deeper with God, to READ and STUDY the Bible, and then to share it with others? For those who still aren’t sure about Jesus….start with reading the Bible. Find a church that preaches TRUTH about Jesus, and if your church has home groups or bible studies, JOIN them!!! Start this new Fall season with the ONE who loves you so much, the ONE that is worth digging deeper in the Bible, and finding your true love…Jesus.
