WHEN LIFE GETS TWISTED

I had walked by it a hundred times. The hole had been there all along but I never paid attention to it…until it was too late. I had just finished walking Miley and was getting the hose to water what plants survived the Az summer heat. And just like that my foot caught the side of the hole and I felt the pain immediately. I started to limp and knew I had twisted it. I got ice and Advil, elevated it on the couch and hoped that would be it. But, it wasn’t. I had plans today to walk Miley and go for a nice bike ride…but sometimes life doesn’t turn out that way, right? It can get all twisted up when we have finally made strides to better our lives. Have you found that to be true also? You spent a year planning your ideal trip when you get sick; you have an interview for what you think will be the perfect job only THEY don’t show up? You saved up all your money for a down payment on your perfect car when you lose your job and need it for rent; your soulmate dies unexpectedly; There were 12 men, only really 11 now, that also found themselves twisted up because the man they were following, the one they called the Messiah, had died. They were lost, feeling hopeless, not knowing what to do. They thought Jesus was the real deal..the king the Jews had been waiting for all these hundreds of years. But, he was in the ground now, and the Romans were still in charge. For some of them they went back to what they knew…fishing. The story goes that, while fishing, Jesus calls out to them from the shore. Not sure what they were seeing, they rowed back to shore…and there He was… Jesus baking bread and cooking fish. He was alive. He was real…He IS real. If you are finding yourself all twisted up in your life, questioning your future, looking down at your hole and asking yourself “ how do I get through this?” ask Jesus. Like the disciples, they found out that Jesus was real…HE wasn’t in the grave anymore..HE had risen and now they KNEW He was the true Messiah. And from that moment on they found purpose, hope, peace of heart. And those 11 men went on to change the world in the name of Jesus. Whatever your life looks like right now, be encouraged that Jesus is right there, always has and always will be, and He can bring clarity and hope and peace to your life…forever . All you need to do is ask…
