PATIENTLY HOPING
As I was scrolling the FB story I suddenly stopped. Wait. I know that woman. I went back to read the story. She is a young, vivacious, joyful, intelligent, godly woman in a hospital gown. For awhile she had been having gynecological issues that seemingly was not being resolved. Until a tenacious gyn doctor did some other tests and found she had cancer. Fortunately, they caught it in time but, it required a hysterectomy. Suddenly I found myself back to the moment my doctor told us we would never have children. It felt like the worst day of my life. People would tell us we could adopt but that wasn’t the same. After four months of grieving, we decided to check into it. Within a few months we adopted Jake. But, there was a moment Kev and I cried because our ideal life was not to be. We gave up our dreams in exchange for Gods plan. And we’ve never regretted that decision. Jake has been more than a dream come true. As I prayed for my friend, I decided to paint this clay pot in bright, happy colors with the word “ HOPE” and the scripture verse Romans 8:25 “ But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently”. There are two rainbows on the side of the pot symbolizing Gods promises to His children. She LOVES plants and, with great JOY, orange flowers! Maybe you are wondering if YOUR dreams can come true. Have you been disappointed that life is not turning out like you had hoped? As many can testify, exchanging your dreams for Gods plan will bring the greatest JOY of your life. But, as this verse reads, hope requires patience and a trust in the one who answers our hearts desires. I can say with confidence, my friend and her husband will receive the JOY of a family…just the way God intended it to be. Are YOU willing to wait on the Lord? I pray that you too will experience the faithfulness of God as your hope is fulfilled. And for my friend, thank you for continuing to show everyone around you the JOY of the Lord, and the HOPE for what this next chapter will be…
