LORD, SEND ME

It started in a dream, then a place, then a church, then a calling. It wasn't in a third world. It was here…in NYC. I love NYC. My relatives are from Staten Island. Not all missionaries are being called to far away countries.….some are being called to NYC. And so it began in me. A few months ago God started putting it on my heart to pray for NYC…for the people who are lost, angry, fearful, and need Jesus..even if they don’t know it. Soon afterwards I found a church who are on the front line, loving the people, sharing Jesus, and bringing HOPE when so many have lost it. I may not live near NYC but God has put it on my heart to pray for the lost, to support those who are there who have a heart for this new and uprising spiritual war zone. I pray that they will meet Jesus, in their dreams, visions, neighborhood, subways, parks…and that is exactly what is happening. The key for evangelism isn’t all your biblical knowledge, or tracks…it’s your heart and your willingness to be available when God calls you…even if its 2,000 miles away. How about you? Are you willing to say “Lord, send me”? Right now the spiritual battlefield needs those of us who can hear Gods voice, and be willing to be obedient to His calling. It may not be going to Africa but just inviting a neighbor to church, or volunteering in a homeless shelter, or babysitting for a single mom, or listening to an elderly who is lonely. It can be financially supporting a couple who has been called to be on the front line. Whatever the calling, we as Christians have the message of HOPE, of salvation, of LOVE from the Father through the redemption of Jesus and carried out through the Holy Spirit. And if you don’t have Jesus in your life right now I pray He will make Himself known to you so that you will experience the Love of God yourself. And for those who do know Jesus, don’t hide it…share it…be willing to hear His voice, his calling, and say “Lord, send Me”. You never know…maybe even to NYC?.
