IF MY PEOPLE…
It was in February when we were in New York and we were freezing. There was a little church that was open so we went in to warm ourselves. To our awe and surprise, there was a multitude of cards, posters, letters, flowers, and big signs thanking the firemen who fought the disaster during the attack on 9/11. It was here where the firemen would sleep, get food, and sometimes cry. But this tiny church was not destroyed. We found out it is called St. Paul’s Chapel, where President Washington went to just after he was inaugurated in 1789. It was here that he came to pray for our country. He spoke of the pillars of political prosperity being religion and morality. Today, our country will be rededicating our commitment back to God…just like our first president did. As it says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 “ If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” If you haven’t noticed yet, we need God more than ever…So, will you join me today and pray for our country, to humble ourselves before Him, to repent from our wicked ways, and seek His forgiveness? 250 years ago we believed in God’s sovereignty for America…will we for the next 250 years?
